The Rainy Baker.

My name is Madeline and I live here in the rainy city of Seattle with my hubby and my two dogs -- Toby the Chi-weenie and Nymeria the Wheaten Terrier. I have always had a passion for baking (well more of an obsession really!) but I have just recently made the decision to attend baking school, specializing in Pastry and Specialty Baking.

So why do I LOVE to bake? Besides the room baking leaves for experimenting and being artistic, I love even more how happy sweets make people. No one ever thought their life was worse off for eating a buttery cookie!

Other than spending time covered in flour in the kitchen, I enjoy exploring the city with my hubby and my two furry friends! The city has so much to offer from art galleries to weekly farmers markets. Outside of the city, the mountains and ocean are within miles away. We spend the snowy days snowboarding and the sunny days camping and hiking. I couldn't imagine living in a more wonderful place! 

The Blog.

This blog will reflect my baking style -- messy, homey and full of butter! I will post my experiments, my results and my experiences through baking school. I am not a professional baker (yet!) and my posts will reflect this. Sometimes I will succeed and make the most delicious things ever (!) and sometimes I will fail and comment on how I could improve on my mistakes. I hope that as I progress through baking school and grow as a baker that this blog will grow as well!
